Alberto Kalach (* 1960 in Mexico City ) is a Mexican architect.

Kalach studied architecture at the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City and at Cornell University in Ithaca . From 1981 to 2002 he worked with Daniel Álvarez in the joint architecture firm Taller de Arquitectura X (TAX).

His projects include numerous designs for solo and group exhibitions, including those that stood out in 1985 for the realization of the Museum of Modern Art in Bonn , the Mexican designs for the Opéra Bastille and in 1996 for the Hartell Gallery in New York, as well his landscape architectural designs in the same year.

The urban planning problems in his hometown developed into one of his main interests, which is why he founded the collective “México: ciudad futura” ( German : “Mexico: City of the Future”). Since then he has realized a wide variety of large-scale joint projects, among his colleagues well-known architects such as Teodoro González de León , Gustavo Lipkau and José Castillo . His proposals for representative lakes in urban planning drafts are indicative of the solution to the water supply problems that exist in Mexico City.

Kalach publishes numerous specialist articles in national and international architecture magazines. Kalach is one of the architects involved in the “Vuelta a la ciudad lacustre” (German: “Return to the Lake City”) project.
