Juan Silva (marathon runner)
Juan Silva (born June 24, 1930 , † 2007 ) was a Chilean marathon runner .
In 1956 he won bronze in the half marathon at the South American Athletics Championships in Santiago . On July 30, 1956, he won a marathon in Santiago de Chile with his personal best of 2:28:31 h and thus qualified for the marathon of the Olympic Games in Melbourne , in which he did not reach the goal.
Another bronze medal in the half marathon at the 1958 South American Championships in Montevideo was followed by a fifth place in the marathon at the 1959 Pan American Games in Chicago.
In 1960 he came in 33rd place at the Olympic Games in Rome , in 1961 in Lima he was the South American marathon champion.
