In 1992 Uslé participated in documenta IX and in 2005 in the 51st Venice Biennale . Extensive solo exhibitions followed in 2002 at the Museum Morsbroich and in 2014 at the Kunstmuseum Bonn . The Kunstmuseum Bonn showed the group of so-called black pictures “Soñé que revelabas / I dreamed that you would appear”.

“This series of images, which is central to the artist's work, has been created in loose succession since 1997 and currently comprises almost 50 works. In the 'Soñé que revelabas', which usually only emerge at night, Uslé realizes a highly concentrated, meditative treatise on the structural conditions of painting and the painting process. Every brushstroke in these pictures is always charged twice. On the one hand, it is the self-portrayal of the painterly gesture, and in this way fits into the traditional horizon of self-reflective abstract painting. On the other hand, each brushstroke corresponds to a heartbeat of the artist, which means that the images are charged with an existential corporeality. "
