Juan Vicente Mas Quiles

Juan Vicente Mas Quiles (born January 25, 1921 in Liria , Province of Valencia ) is a Spanish composer and conductor .

He began his musical education in the music school of the famous Ateneu Musical i d'Ensenyament Banda Primitiva de Llíria , which in the past decades was a guarantee for a development up to the highest musical level. He studied flute and conducting at the Conservatory in València , which he graduated in 1940. He then entered the military music service. In 1946 he became the conductor of an infantry wind orchestra . Later he was a conductor in Seville and València as well as a guest conductor with various Spanish symphony orchestras .

He composed a lot of Spanish music, especially paso-dobles and marches. He became well known in the professional world for his excellent arrangements for wind orchestras of major works of orchestral literature, such as B. Carmina Burana by Carl Orff , the six movements Granada , Cataluña , Seville , Cádiz , Asturias and Aragón from Suite Espagñola by Isaac Albéniz , Dolly Suite by Gabriel Fauré and scenes from children by Robert Schumann .
