Player career

Juanito started his career in 2002 with the club from his hometown, Málaga FC . With the Andalusians he played regularly in the Primera División for three years. In the summer of 2005 he left the club to play more often and went to promoted Deportivo Alavés . There he had a regular place straight away, but had to watch how the Basques only lost in stoppage time on the last day of the game in a long-distance duel with Espanyol Barcelona in the battle for relegation.

He then went to Real Sociedad , but again he was relegated with a Basque team. Again Juanito got the opportunity to stay in the first division, so that he signed with the Andalusian first division promoted UD Almería .
