The Juba Conference , (also called the Juba Conference), took place on June 12 and 13, 1947 in Juba in what is now South Sudan under the official name of the Sudan Administration Conference .

At this conference, the British colonial power of the time and representatives of North Sudan decided to unite North and South Sudan without representatives of South Sudan being present. The south is mainly black African and Christian - natural religion , the north, on the other hand, is essentially Islamic and largely Arabic .

The aim of this conference was to prevent Sudan from breaking up into small, weak regions. The representatives of Northern Sudan in particular wanted a strong state for the approaching independence.
