The Juba Stadium is a football stadium in the southern Sudanese capital Juba . The South Sudanese national football team plays its home games in the stadium, which was built in 1962 . In 2011, the facility with a capacity of 12,000 was renovated; the financing was provided by the Petronas Oil Company . On July 9, 2011, the first football encounter took place in the renovated stadium; South Sudan played against the Kenyan first division club Tusker FC In the Juba Stadium, the first official international match after South Sudan's independence took place on July 10, 2012; The opponent was Uganda .
