Judah al-Charisi
Juda al-Charisi (also Jehuda ben Solomo al-Charisi ; * around 1165 or 1170 probably in Toledo ; † around 1225 or 1235 in Aleppo ) was a well-traveled Spanish-Jewish poet and translator from Arabic into Hebrew .
Among other things, he wrote the sefer tachkemoni (“Book of the Clever” - 50 Makamen in dialogue form) and translated Maimonides ' “ Leader of the Undecided ” into Hebrew. His works also had a certain influence on the Christian world through subsequent Latin and Spanish translations.
