Judique is a community that is on the west side of Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia , Canada . Judique is located directly on the Ceilidh Trail (Route 19), which leads over the Cabot Trail to Cape Breton Highlands National Park .
The community
The community of Judique includes Judique South, Judique North, Judique Ponts, Judique Chapel, Little Judique and the small town of Judique itself. Due to the rural structure and limited job opportunities, many of the residents of Port Hawkesbury are employed. The closest places to the south are Long Point, Craigmore and Creignish and to the north Port Hood, Mabou, Inverness , Margaree and Chéticamp .
Judique is known nationwide for its musical events and resident musicians who maintain the traditional music of Cape Breton and teach in music courses. The musical focal point is the Celtic Music Interpretive Center in the center of the village directly opposite the Catholic St. Andrew's Church.
