Judith Hopf

Judith Hopf (* 1969 in Karlsruhe ) is a German artist . She teaches as a professor of fine art at the Frankfurt Städelschule . She has held the office of Pro-Rector there since 2015.

Life

Judith Hopf studied in Bremen at the University of Fine Arts, in 1996 she went to Berlin to the University of the Arts. She often works in close collaboration with other artists. The central themes of her work are social stipulations and power relations in both politics and private life.

In addition to dOCUMENTA (13) in 2012, Judith Hopf was involved in many other international group exhibitions, including a. 2013 in the Museum of Contemporary Art in Basel. She had solo exhibitions a. a. in the Grazer Kunstverein , in the Portikus in Frankfurt a. M. and in the Vienna Secession building . Her work has also been shown at film festivals such as the Berlinale in Berlin, Forum Expanded section (2013/2010), the International Short Film Festival Oberhausen (2007), and others. v. a. presents. Judith Hopf is the first recipient of the Ruth Baumgarte Art Prize for 2014.

Judith Hopf is a member of the German Association of Artists .
