Julián Baltazar Mariano José Luis Álvarez (born January 9, 1788 in Buenos Aires , † 1843 ?) Was a Uruguayan politician .

Álvarez was a member of the constituent national assembly (1828-1830) as a representative for San José . From October 19, 1830 to February 14, 1834, he then sat in the 1st legislative period for the Soriano Department and again from October 28, 1841 to November 28, 1843 (4th and 5th legislative periods), but then for Montevideo , in the Cámara de Representantes . In the years 1841 to 1843 he took on the role of President of the Chamber. In the meantime he was in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th legislative period (February 14, 1835 - July 14, 1836, February 13, 1837 - July 12, 1839 and from December 20, 1839 - May 28, 1841) as Senator representative of Maldonado in the Cámara de Senadores . From March 6, 1854 to May 9 of the same year, according to the official database of the Uruguayan parliament, he once again briefly took over a mandate as a representative of Montevideo in the Chamber of Deputies. This contradicts sources which state that 1843 was the year of his death.
