Julião Quintão

Julião Quintão (born June 5, 1950 ), battle name Barabasa , is an East Timorese independence activist.

Quintão was a supporter of the resistance during the Indonesian occupation. In 1989 he hid Mau Hodu , one of the leading men of the Forças Armadas de Libertação Nacional de Timor-Leste (FALINTIL), and other guerrillas in his garden in the Aldeia Siralari ( Suco Caraubalo ) for two weeks . Quintão also relayed news and provided medical care to the fighters. In 2016 he was awarded the Medal des Ordem de Timor-Leste for his services .
