Julia Bruns

Julia Bruns ( pseudonym Clara Bernardi ; * 1975 in Thuringia ) is a German political scientist and writer . She writes detective novels .

Life

Julia Bruns studied political science, sociology and psychology at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena and received her doctorate in the field of political science. She worked as a speechwriter and in public relations.

Since 2015 she has been writing regional thrillers based in her native Thuringia, the so-called Thuringia Commissioner series. In it, the commissioners Bernsen and Kohlschuetter investigate fictitious criminal cases that take place at actual locations and events .

In 2019 Bruns published her first crime thriller set outside of Thuringia. The location of the Ice Cold Baltic Sea is the seaside resort Sellin on the island of Rügen . In the same year, her first crime novel appeared under the pseudonym Clara Bernardi. In Requiem on Lake Como, Commissario Giulia Cesare investigates the coastal towns of Lake Como in Italy .

Julia Bruns lives in Thuringia.
