Julia Drinnenberg (* 1949 in Oberhausen ) is a draftsman, caricaturist , illustrator and author of comics . She has published in newspapers and magazines, illustrated and edited several books, and runs workshops with children.

Life and accomplishments

Julia Drinnenberg was born in Oberhausen in 1949 and grew up in Marsberg . She became interested in drawing at an early age and published disrespectful drawings for the school newspaper. After graduating from high school in 1970, she began studying graphics in Kassel. After two semesters she switched to art education, which she completed with the state examination. Until 1978 she headed the Hofgeismar family education center. She founded the Hofgeismar children's home. Drinnenberg has been working as a cartoonist for HNA , taz , Cicero , Ev since 1988 . Medienzentrale and others, as a comic artist and illustrator of her own children's books and books by other authors. In addition, she realized the two didactic, interactive traveling exhibitions How a Children's Book Is Made and Fascination Comics .

Since 2008 she has been leading the activities and projects of the Jewish department in the Hofgeismar City Museum on a voluntary basis . She conducts research on the city's history under National Socialism. Drinnenberg has been married to Gerhard Drinnenberg since 1974, with whom she has three children. She lives with her family in Hofgeismar.

Awards

In 2011 she received the Hofgeismar Citizens' Prize for her commitment.
