Julia Hassler (born February 27, 1993 in Vaduz ) is a Liechtenstein swimmer. She specializes in long journeys.

Life

Hassler finished eleventh over 800 meters freestyle at the European Short Course Championships in Istanbul in 2009 and tenth at the European Youth Championships in Prague . In the same year she won four medals at the Games of the Small States of Europe 2009 in Cyprus and set a new game record in the 800 meter freestyle. She was elected Liechtenstein Sportswoman of the Year for her successes .

The following year she was seventh at the Summer Youth Olympic Games in Singapore over 400 meters freestyle and reached 13th place over 200 meters dolphin. In 2011 she took part in the World Championships in Shanghai and was voted Sportswoman of the Year for the second time.

In 2012 she reached seventh place at the European Championships over 800 meters freestyle and fifth place over 1500 meters. In the same year she took part in the Summer Olympics in London. There she retired over 400 meters and over 800 meters freestyle in the prerun.

At the European Swimming Championships in 2014 , she reached the final of the 1500 meter freestyle again and finished eighth there.

In 2017 Hassler was nominated for the Universiade in Taipei , where she finished 7th in the 400 meter freestyle.
