Julia Theres Held (* 1977 in Bremen ) is a German journalist , editor and television presenter .

Life

Julia Theres Held was born in Bremen as the daughter of a German and an Algerian .

education

After graduating from the Catholic private school Lender in Sasbach, Julia Theres Held studied German , theater, film and television studies and public law at the University of Cologne , which she completed with a master's degree. She also studied communication science for a semester at UCLA , as well as Islamic studies and Middle East politics at Tel Aviv University . She also trained as a journalist at the German School of Journalism (DJS) in Munich, which she completed in 2005.

Career

Held gained his first journalistic experience at WDR in Cologne and the Süddeutsche Zeitung in Munich. As a scholarship holder of the Herbert Quandt Foundation , she also worked for a year as a freelance journalist in Israel . Since 2007 Held has been working as an editor and reporter in the ZDF main editorial office for politics and current affairs . Since March 2011 Julia Theres Held has moderated the international journal extra on 3sat at irregular intervals and has been leading the ZDF news program in Europe since October 2012, alternating with Andreas Klinner . In the run-up to the European elections, she also traveled alternately with Andreas Klinner through various European countries for the magazine Europa Politix to report on the topics of the election.
