Julia Holmes

Julia Holmes (born July 2, 1980 ) is a German-Australian actress based in Hamburg.

Life

Julia Holmes is the daughter of the Australian concert pianist Roger Holmes and the music author and piano teacher Susanne Holmes. She grew up in Hamburg and attended the Rudolf Steiner School in Hamburg-Wandsbek. During school she learned to play the violin and took her first classical singing lessons at the age of 16, which she continued later in her studies. After graduating from high school in 2000, she applied for four years to the state drama schools in Germany and Australia and studied law at the Humboldt University in Berlin . Eventually she was taken to the Folkwang University of the Arts and studied acting from 2004 to 2008.

This was followed by guest engagements at various theaters. Julia Holmes has also been working for film and television since 2011, as well as a spokesperson for radio play productions. Julia Holmes had her first guest appearance on television in the series "Danni Lowinski". Further appearances followed in “Morden im Norden”, “Pfefferkörnern”, “Tatort” and “Rote Rosen”.
