Julia Knop

Julia Knop (* 1977 ) is a German Roman Catholic theologian and dogmatist.

Life

She studied Catholic theology in Bonn and Münster (Diploma 2001, Bonn) as well as Catholic religious studies and German (1st state examination Sek I / II 2007, Bonn). In 2006 she was in Bonn with a thesis on theological anthropology summa cum laude doctorate . After working as an assistant in Bonn and Freiburg im Breisgau , she was appointed private lecturer in 2011 and extraordinary professor for dogmatics at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg in 2014. She represented chairs in Wuppertal , Heidelberg and Münster. Since the winter semester 2016/17 she has been teaching dogmatics at the Catholic Theological Faculty of the University of Erfurt , where she was appointed full professor on April 1, 2017.

Her research interests are (ir) relevance and (in) plausibility of the question of God in the present: inquiry and challenge of systematic theology, theology of marriage, dogmatic principles: sources and places of theological knowledge, forms of thought and paradigms in theology, concept analysis and comparison , Christology and Soteriology, Theology and Hermeneutics of the Second Vatican Council and Ecumenical Theology.
