Julia Marino (born April 14, 1992 in Bahía Negra ) is a Paraguayan , formerly American freestyle skier . It starts in the disciplines halfpipe and slopestyle .

Career

Marino made her debut in the Freestyle Skiing World Cup in March 2012 in Mammoth . She finished 24th on the halfpipe and 11th in slopestyle. In March 2013 she achieved her first and so far only podium finish in the World Cup with second place in slopestyle at the World Cup in Sierra Nevada . After the 2012/13 season, she moved from the US Association to the Paraguayan Association. At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi , she took 17th place in slopestyle. This made her the first female athlete to compete in the Winter Olympics for Paraguay.
