Julia Schlecht (* 16th March 1980 in Herdecke ) is a former German Volleyball - national player .
Career
Julia Schlecht began playing volleyball in 1990 at RC Sorpesee . She later played for Bundesliga club VC Schwerte . After a stay abroad at the University of Rhode Island , the setter returned to the Bundesliga in 2001 and played for Bayer Leverkusen until 2008 .
Julia Schlecht completed 111 international matches in the German national team . The highlights here were the third place at the 2002 Grand Prix in Asia , the bronze medal at the 2003 European Championships in Ankara and participation in the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens .
