Julian Sas (born May 29, 1970 in Beneden-Leeuwen , Netherlands ) is a Dutch blues and blues rock guitarist and singer.

Life

Julian Sas got his first guitar at the age of 12. He dedicated himself to the music of Jimi Hendrix , Alvin Lee , Freddie King , Elmore James and Peter Green . At the age of 17 he saw Rory Gallagher for the first time live in Utrecht , whose music he was strongly influenced by.

At the age of 26 he founded the Julian Sas Band , with which he tours in various line-ups to this day.

At the turn of the year 2015/2016, shortly before the release of the new CD COMING HOME, Tenny Tahamta left the band as bassist. The band currently consists of Fotis Anagnostou Bass, Rob Heijne Drums and Roland Bakker keyboards and Hammond organ as well as Julian Sas guitar / vocals. The musical program is characterized by blues, blues rock and boogie. As a sign of his solidarity, Sas plays pieces by Rory Gallagher and Jimi Hendrix in addition to his own compositions at every concert . Julian Sas played several times with former members of Rory Gallagher's band, bassist Gerry McAvoy and drummer Brendan O'Neill .

In May 2008, Sas headlined the annual Rory Gallagher tribute festival Going to my Hometown in Ballyshannon , the Irish musician's birthplace.
