Juliana Horatia Ewing

Juliana Horatia Ewing (born August 3, 1841 in Ecclesfield , Sheffield , England , † May 13, 1885 in Bath ) was an English author of children's books . These give insight into children's life, admiration for the military and strictly religious beliefs.

She was the second of ten children of Rev Alfred Gatty , Vicar in Ecclesfield, and the children's author Margaret Gatty . On June 1, 1867, she married the Scottish musician, composer and translator Alexander Ewing .
