Juliane Leopold (born 1983 in Halle (Saale) ) is a German journalist . Since October 2019 she has been the digital editor-in-chief of ARD-aktuell .

Life

Leopold studied journalism and communication science at the Free University of Berlin . Then she wrote for the Neue Zürcher Zeitung , den Freitag and Die Zeit . Her main focus was on technology and society.

In 2013 Leopold was co-founder of the feminist blog kleindrei , which she headed together with Anne Wizorek until December 2018 . In 2014 the blog was nominated for the Grimme Online Award . From October 2014 to January 2016 she was editor-in-chief of the German edition of BuzzFeed . In the media magazine's choice of Journalists of the Year 2014 , it came second in the Newcomer category.

From June 2016 Leopold worked as a consultant for tagesschau.de . In July 2018 she took over the editorial management from Christiane Krogmann . Since October 2019 she has been the digital editor-in-chief of ARD-aktuell .
