Julianne Baird

Julianne Baird (born December 10, 1952 in Statesville , North Carolina ) is an American singer (soprano) and specialist author.

Life

Baird has two diplomas from the Eastman School of Music and a diploma in the performing arts from Nikolaus Harnoncourt from the Mozarteum in Salzburg, and a Doctor of Philosophy in music history from Stanford University . She made her debut with the New York Philharmonic in the premiere of Steve Reich's Tehillim . Further appearances with the Cleveland Orchestra and the Brooklyn Philharmonic and others followed.

The Washington Post wrote of the artist : "... the American singer Julianne Baird has one of the most extraordinary voices this generation has produced."
