Julie Goodwin (* 1970 in Sydney ) is an Australian cook and cookbook author.

Life

Goodwin worked as a youth worker for many years . She then worked in a juvenile detention center in Sydney. After the birth of her three sons, she started an IT company with her husband.

In 2008 she applied to take part in the first season of the cooking show MasterChef Australia and was known to an audience of millions in 2009. After its victory in Masterchef Australia she appeared regularly on the television program Today the breakfast television by Nine Network and was given its own column in Australian Women's Weekly . In 2010 she got her own TV show Home Cooked .

She published her first cookbook, Our Family Table , in 2010, and in 2011 it received the Australian Book Industry award in the Illustrated book of the year category . In December 2010 her Christmas CD Christmas with Julie Goodwin was released , which contains nine Christmas carols sung by her and the recipes for a complete Christmas menu. In 2011 she published her second cookbook Heart of the Home . Her third cookbook, Gather, followed in 2013, and her fourth cookbook, 20/20 meals , was published in 2014.

In 2012, Goodwin took part in MasterChef All Stars and made it into the top four. In 2014 she opened her own cooking school Julie's Place in North Gosford . In 2015 she participated in the first season of the Australian reality show I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! part.

Julie Goodwin and her husband are longtime supporters of ChildFund Australia .
