Julie Thenen

Julie Thenen (born September 4, 1834 in Lemberg as Julie Waldberg ; † October 12, 1919 in Vienna ) was an Austrian writer .

Life

Julie Thenen, daughter of the Jewish businessman J. Waldberg, married in 1852. She published sketches and humoresques in daily newspapers from 1860, later descriptions of Jewish customs and traditions, some of which met with criticism due to their relentless openness.

Thenen worked for various daily newspapers such as The Beautiful, Blue Danube and treasurer of the German Writers' Association as well as in the management of the "Association of Writers in Vienna".
