Juliet Barker

Juliet RV Barker (* 1958 , Yorkshire ) is a British historian. The main focus of her work is studies of the Middle Ages and literary historical biographies. She is the author of a number of highly regarded works on the Brontë siblings , William Wordsworth, and medieval tournaments .

Barker received her education at Bradford Girl's Grammer School and at St Anne's College , Oxford . In 1999 the University of Bradford awarded her an honorary Doctorate of Letters in recognition of her outstanding literary-historical biographies . In 2001 she was accepted as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature .

Barker is married and has two children. She lives in the South Pennines .
