In 2015, Julija Tschumachenko qualified for the U23 European Championships in Tallinn , where she finished seventh in the final with 1.81 m. With her new personal best of 1.93 m indoors, Tschumachenko qualified as one of four Ukrainians for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro . But since only three athletes were allowed to compete per discipline, they were left behind and could not take part in the games. In 2017 she took part in the European Indoor Championships in Belgrade , where she was eliminated from the qualification with a height of 1.86 m. Two years later she won the Summer Universiade in Naples with equalizing her best performance of 1.4 m.
