Julius Bertuch
Julius Bertuch (born June 29, 1838 ; † January 13, 1904 in Gotha ) was a German architect and municipal building officer for the city of Gotha; he designed the first crematorium commissioned in Germany .
Life
Bertuch worked for the municipal building authority for almost four decades as a town builder and later as town planning officer. He died on January 13, 1904. The Bertuch family's grave is located in the main cemetery in Gotha .
