Julius Gebauer

Julius Hermann Karl Gebauer (born February 17, 1861 in Charlottenburg ; † May 17, 1955 in Berlin ) was a German entrepreneur .

After studying mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Charlottenburg , in 1881 he switched to the bleaching and machine factory Fr. Gebauer of his father Friedrich Gebauer . In 1891 he became a co-owner of the textile factory.

In 1900, the family company moved under his management to an area of ​​around 20,000 m² on the Spree in Charlottenburg. The textile machine factory built on today's Franklinstrasse employed up to 1,000 people at times and has been preserved to this day as a listed Gebauer Höfe factory ensemble .

In the years that followed, Julius Gebauer held numerous supervisory board positions in other companies. He died in 1955.

His daughter Irma married the later colonel general and resistance fighter Erich Hoepner in 1910 .
