Julius Goesen

Ignatz Johann Julius Goesen (born June 23, 1816 in Münster ; † February 7, 1872 in Naumburg (Saale) ) was a German judge and parliamentarian.

Life

Julius Goesen studied law at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn . In 1836 he became a member of the Corps Saxonia Bonn . After completing his studies, he pursued a career as a judge. From 1846 to 1849 he was a higher regional court assessor at the higher regional court in Münster. From 1849 to 1861 he worked as a district judge in Tecklenburg . He then became a judge of appeal at the Naumburg Court of Appeal .

Goesen sat in the Prussian House of Representatives in 1861 as a member of the Münster 2 constituency . He belonged to the faction of the center .

The co-founder of the Center Party, Alfred Hüffer, and the legal historian Hermann Hüffer were his cousins.
