Julius Jewelowski, from a family of Russian Jews, was a wood exporter (SJ Jewelowski company) in Gdansk. As the owner of the Danzig-Rückforther sawmills and landowner, he was one of the wealthiest residents of Danzig.
Politically, he joined the German Liberal Party. At the beginning of 1919 he was the deputy chairman of the Reich Citizens' Council . From 1920 to 1923 and again from 1928 to 1930 he belonged to the People's Day , the parliament of the Free City of Danzig, from 1920 to 1923 he was trade senator in the Sahm I Senate .
