Julius Graf Karolyi de Nagy Karoly (born July 4, 1837 in Budapest , † November 23, 1890 there ) was a Hungarian manor owner and parliamentarian.

Life

Julius Karolyi de Nagy Karoly was born as the eldest son of Count Georg Károlyi de Nagy Karoly and Karoline geb. Countess Zichy de Zich and Vásonykeő. After attending grammar schools in Budapest and Bonn , he studied at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn . In 1857 he became a member of the Corps Borussia Bonn . After completing his studies, he became a majorate on Debrö and Csurgó in Fejervar County. He was a hereditary member of the Hungarian Magnate House and from 1872 to 1878 a member of the Hungarian House of Representatives, the second chamber of the Hungarian Reichstag .

Karolyi de Nagy Karoly was president of the Red Cross Association of the Countries of the Hungarian Holy Crown, the Hungarian Jockes Club, the First Hungarian General Insurance Company and the Association of Hungarian Writers. His first marriage was to Georgine Countess Karolyi de Nagy Karoly and, after her death, his second marriage to Geraldine Countess Pállfy de Erdöd.

Victor Karolyi de Nagy Karoly was his brother.
