Friedrich Karl Devens

Friedrich Karl Devens (born April 19, 1852 in Recklinghausen ; † June 1, 1902 in Bonn ) was a German lawyer and writer .

Life

Friedrich Karl Devens was born as the son of the district judge Friedrich Karl Devens and Wilhelmine geb. Hey. His grandfather was the Justice Commissioner Friedrich Carl Devens . After attending high school in Dorsten , Meppen and Wiesbaden he studied at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-University of Bonn , the Friedrich-Wilhelms University in Berlin and the Georg-August-University of Goettingen law . In 1873 he became a member of the Corps Borussia Bonn . After studying and traineeship, he became a district judge, but gave up the service to become a writer. He wrote on cultural-historical and genealogical topics. His last work was the Borussia Bonn corps album, dedicated to his corps brother Kaiser Wilhelm II , which was posthumously completed and printed. Devens was Rittmeister of the Landwehr, patron saint of the parish church of St. Cyriakus in Bottrop and protector of the Warrior and Landwehr Association Bottrop-Lehmkuhle. He was married to Paula Lupp.
