Julius Heinrich Albert Friedrich Otto (born January 29, 1866 in Schwerin , † 1924 in Munich ) was a German theater actor and director .

Life

The son of the actor couple Wilhelm Otto and Rosa Otto-Martineck first worked in business and took up the acting profession in 1885. He found his first engagement at the court theater in Meiningen , where he initially stayed for a year to do his military service. He returned to this engagement, worked there until 1888, then came to Brno (1889), to Bremen (1890), to St. Louis (from 1890 to 1891), whereupon he became a member of the Hamburg City Theater (from 1891 to 1892), then joined the Association of the City Theater in Riga, where he worked for four years and in 1896 followed a call to the Leipzig City Theater. In 1902 he took over the management of the city ​​theater in Zwickau with Frido Grelle .

His brother was the actor Alex Otto , whose wife Margarethe Körner was his sister-in-law.
