Julius Paul Schmidt-Felling
Julius Paul Schmidt-Felling (* 1835 in Berlin , Kingdom of Prussia , † 1920 in Germany ) was a German sculptor .
life and work
Although Schmidt-Felling worked as an artist for over 60 years, little is known about his life in literature. The sculptor was best known for his bronze Art Nouveau figures, which served a variety of subjects, including athletes, mythological warriors, nudes, workers, and children playing. Many of his works were handcrafted by the Berlin art foundry Gladenbeck , others by the small foundry Robert Kionsek. During the early Art Deco period , Schmidt-Felling incorporated the typical chryselephantine technique into his work and thus also worked with ivory .
