Julius Scriba (pharmacist)

Julius Scriba (born March 6, 1866 in Reinheim ; † August 4, 1937 there ) was a lecturer in pharmaceutical law at the Technical University of Darmstadt .

Life

Scriba began an apprenticeship in pharmacy with his father in 1884. From 1889 he studied pharmacy at the Technical University of Darmstadt and in 1891 became a member of the Darmstadt fraternity Frisia . After his state examination in 1892, he initially managed his father's Engel pharmacy in Reinheim and became the owner in 1900. For years he headed the Hessian Pharmacists Association and was on the board of the German Pharmacists Association . From 1905 he was a deputy member of the commission for the preliminary examination of pharmacists and in 1909 he became a member of the state examination authority for pharmacists at the Technical University of Darmstadt. The Hessian Chamber of Pharmacists was co-founded by him in 1924 and he was chairman there for many years. From 1927 he was given a teaching position for pharmaceutical law at the Technical University of Darmstadt. He was also the chairman of the Odenwald Club and the initiator of the founding of the Reinheim local history museum.
