Julius Zerzer

Julius Zerzer (born January 5, 1889 in Mureck , Styria , † October 29, 1971 in Linz ) was an Austrian writer .

Life

The son of a doctor was a professor at a grammar school in Linz. The Christian conservative writer of historical novels saw himself as the successor to Adalbert Stifter , and in his historical novel Der Kronenerbe (1953) he addressed the "natural law" of human existence.

After the Anschluss of Austria in 1938, Zerzer contributed to the Confession Book of Austrian Poets (published by the Association of German Writers in Austria , to which Zerzer also belonged), which enthusiastically welcomed the Anschluss.

Awards and honors

In Linz-St. Magdalena was named after him in 1972 in the course of new development with apartment blocks on Zerzerstraße.
