The K3000 class , or K class for short, from the Dutch shipping company Jumbo Shipping is a heavy lift cargo ship class with two units. They are the most powerful ships of their kind.

Technical specifications

The ships of the K3000 class are built at the Brodosplit shipyard near Split. The ships, which are a little over 150 meters long with superstructures in the front and a single large cargo hold, have a maximum load capacity of 14,000 tons and are equipped with two starboard-mounted mast cranes from the Dutch manufacturer Huisman, each of which can lift 1500 tons individually and 3000 tons in tandem.

The ships are powered by two MaK four-stroke diesel engines of the type 9M32C with a total output of 9,000 kW. The motors act on two fixed propellers and enable a speed of 17 knots. Continue to auxiliary diesel and an emergency diesel-generator. The docking and casting off maneuvers are supported by a bow thruster made by Berg with an output of 1500 kW.
