The Juminda tuletorn is a lighthouse ( Estonian tuletorn ) in Estonia . It stands at 10 meters above sea level on Cape Juminda , the northern tip of the Juminda peninsula in the Lahemaa National Park and in the area of the rural community of Kuusalu in the district ( maakond ) Harju in the north of the country.
A first beacon with acetylene lanterns was erected on Cape Juminda in 1931. Its light, blinking 150 times per minute, was visible 5 nautical miles from its fire height of 10 meters above the water level .
The current lighthouse, one of reinforced concrete erected round tower of 2 meters in diameter, was built 1937th Its light (height of fire 32 m, white flash of 0.2 seconds duration, followed by a short pause of 0.8 seconds) was visible up to a distance of 8 nautical miles.
Since his lantern was partially covered by trees that had grown in its immediate vicinity in the national park over the years, the previously 24-meter-high tower was increased to 31.7 meters in 2006, with a second viewing platform under the now shining 40-meter height Lantern received. The new upper part is painted red, the lower, original part white. The identifier consists of a white flash of 3 seconds, followed by a pause of 2 seconds, a second flash of 3 seconds and a pause of 7 seconds (LFl (2) W.15s)) with a range of 12 nautical miles.
