The Virgin Chapel (French: Chapelle de la Vierge) is the cemetery chapel of Obernai in Alsace ( Bas-Rhin department ). An important group of Mounts of Olives belongs to the chapel .

The chapel and the mount of olives have been classified as Monument historique since 1929 .

history

The Ölberggruppe was created in 1517 by Paul Windeck. It is located in a housing with a Gothic vault. The keystones are provided with coats of arms and house brands. The Mount of Olives group was included in the Virgin Chapel, built in 1696, which lies below it. In 1810 the chapel was enlarged.
