The Junpu ( Chinese  菌 譜  /  菌 谱 , Pinyin jūnpǔ , Jyutping kwan 2 pou 2  - "Mushroom book, mushroom directory, mushroom register; context-dependent: mushroom recipe book") is a manual published in 1245 by Chén Rényù ( 陳仁玉  /  陈仁玉 ), which explains eleven types of edible mushrooms , including shiitake and matsutake , in detail. It comprises the five categories of growing season, harvest time, shape, color and taste. Published in the Southern Song Period , it is one of the earliest Chinese mushroom monographs and therefore an important source on the history of Chinese food culture.

During the Ming period, a book titled as an extension of this work was published under the name Guǎng jūnpǔ ( 廣 菌 譜  /  广 菌 谱  - "Comprehensive mushroom directory"), which, however, also includes the blue alga Nostoc commune ( 地 耳 , dì'ěr  - "lit. bottom ear") and umbilicaria esculenta (Chinese 石耳 , dì'ěr  - " stone ear "; Japanese 岩 茸 , 石 茸 , kana イ ワ タ ケ , romaji iwatake ; lit. "rock mushroom , stone sponge ") treated. Its author is Pān Zhīhéng ( 潘 之 恆  /  潘 之 恒 ) and it is contained in the book collection Shuōfú xù ( 說 郛 續  /  说 郛 续  - "continuation of the book series 'Shuofu'").

Another historical mushroom book called Wú xùnpǔ ( 吳 蕈 譜  /  吴 蕈 谱  - " Big Mushroom Book of Wu") comes from Wú Lín ( 吳 林  /  吴 林 ) from the Qing period.
