Jure Dobelšek (born April 1, 1984 in Celje , SR Slovenia , SFR Yugoslavia ) is a Slovenian handball player . He is 1.92 m tall.

Dobelšek, who last played for the Slovenian club RK Koper (shirt number 3) and for the Slovenian national team (shirt number 5), is mostly used on the left wing .

Although born in Celje, Jure Dobelšek did not make his debut for RK Celje , but for RK Velenje in the Slovenian first division. With the men from northeastern Slovenia, however, he never managed to get past the club in his hometown. Dobelšek's greatest successes remained the Slovenian Cup in 2003 and the runner-up championships in 2004, 2005 and 2007. In 2009, Dobelšek moved to RK Koper. With Koper he won the EHF Challenge Cup in 2011 .

Jure Dobelšek has so far played 89 international matches for the Slovenian national team. With Slovenia he took part in the 2007 World Cup in Germany, but only finished 10th; at the European Championships in Norway in 2008 , he retired with his country after the main round.

Jure's brother Luka Dobelšek is also a professional handball player and currently plays for RK Velenje .
