Luka Dobelšek (born January 12, 1983 in Celje , SR Slovenia , SFR Yugoslavia ) is a Slovenian handball player . He is 1.91 m tall.

Dobelšek, who plays for the Slovenian club RK Velenje , is mostly used in the center of the back .

Although born in Celje, Luka Dobelšek made her debut not for RK Celje , but for rival RK Velenje in the Slovenian first division. With the men from northeastern Slovenia, however, he never managed to get past the club in his hometown. Dobelšek's greatest successes remained the Slovenian Cup in 2003 and the vice championships in 2004, 2005 and 2007. In 2008 he was signed by the German club TuS Nettelstedt-Lübbecke, who had just been relegated to the 2nd handball league . For the 2009/2010 season Dobelšek moved to TV Emsdetten. For the 2010/2011 season he moved to Wisła Płock together with Lars Walther . With Wisła Płock he won the championship in 2011. In the summer of 2012 he joined RK Velenje again. In 2013 he won the championship with Velenje.

Luka Dobelšek has played ten international matches for the Slovenian national team so far. Before that, he was Vice European Champion with the juniors of his country in Poland in 2002 and third at the 2003 Junior World Championship in Brazil.

Lukas brother Jure Dobelšek played for RK Koper until 2013 and is also a national player.
