Jurgis Gečys

Jurgis Gečys (* 1927 in Kanapelka , Rajongemeinde Molėtai ) is a Lithuanian forest manager and former politician , vice minister , deputy minister for forestry of Lithuania .

Life

In 1946 he graduated from the Molėtai high school and from 1946 to 1951 the diploma course at the Faculty of Forestry at the Lietuvos žemės ūkio akademija . He worked as a forest engineer . On April 18, 1990, Lithuanian Prime Minister Kazimira Prunskienė appointed Gečys as Vice Minister at the Ministry of Forestry of Lithuania . On March 11, 1992, Lithuanian Prime Minister Gediminas Vagnorius exonerated Vagnorius I in the cabinet . His successor was Petras Bužinskas .
