Jurij Rak
Jurij Rak (German Georg Krebs ; born June 14, 1740 in Schwarznaußlitz , † June 12, 1799 in Bautzen ) was a Sorbian lawyer ( lawyer ), poet and composer .
As a Sorbian law student at the University of Leipzig , he joined the Wendische Predigergesellschaft zu Leipzig . According to their statutes at the time, non-theologians could only hold the office of secretary on the board, as a. 1762 acted. In 1766, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Wendish Preacher Society in Leipzig, he composed an “anniversary fashion” and with this work stands at the beginning of the secular classical music of the Sorbian people .
