Jussi Niinistö

Jussi Niinistö (born October 27, 1970 in Helsinki ) is a Finnish politician of the blue future .

Life

Niinistö studied history at the University of Helsinki . At the same university he teaches military history as a university lecturer . He has been a member of the Finnish Parliament since 2011 . He has been Minister of Defense in the Sipilä cabinet since May 2015, succeeding Carl Haglund .

Niinistö was a member of the Basic Finns until June 2017 . With the election of Jussi Halla-aho as chairman, the base Finns suffered a shift to the right, which ended in a government crisis. In June, 20 members of parliament, including Niinistö, declared their split from the grassroots and founded the Blue Future party .

His first marriage was to Kati Niinistö. He has been married to Leena Sharma for the second time since 2015.
