Career
Together with his colleague Iain Harvie , Justin Currie founded the band Del Amitri in the early 1980s, in which Currie took on the part of singing, bass playing and, together with Harvie, songwriting. Both achieved their commercial breakthrough with the Del Amitri project; seven studio albums and a number of radio hits were created in the 80s and 90s . Since 2002 Justin Currie has mainly dedicated himself to his solo career. So far, four solo albums with songs he wrote himself have been released, What is Love for? (2007), The Great War (2010), Lower Reaches (2013) and This Is My Kingdom Now (2017). All four are characterized by Currie's distinctive voice, by a melancholy , lamenting tone and by his preference for unconventional love song texts and thus clearly tie in with the opus by Del Amitri.
