Justin Joshua Jefferson (* 16th January 1999 in St. Rose , Louisiana ) is an American American football player at the position of wide receiver . He played college football for Louisiana State University and won the College Football Playoff National Championship Game with the LSU Tigers . He has been with the Minnesota Vikings in the National Football League (NFL) since 2020 .

Jefferson attended high school in Destrehan , Louisiana . His high school achievements received little attention, only shortly before the training camp began, Jefferson got a place at a college , Louisiana State University . He played there from 2017 to 2019 for the LSU Tigers in the NCAA Division I FBS. His two older brothers had previously played for LSU. After Jefferson hardly had any playing time in his first season, he was the most successful player on his team in his sophomore season with 875 yards of space in the passing game in this category. In his third season at college, he played in the slot, having previously served as an outside receiver.

Jefferson set the national record with 111 passes caught and caught passes for 1580 yards and 18 touchdowns . Only his teammate Ja'Marr Chase had more captured touchdowns. Behind Chase, Jefferson was also the receiver with the second most receiving yards for LSU in one season. His most notable game was the Peach Bowl , which was the semifinal game of the College Football Playoff National Championship Game that year. In the 63:28 victory of the LSU Tigers over the Oklahoma Sooners , Jefferson caught four touchdowns from Joe Burrow in the first half . He then won the national college championship against Clemson with LSU . On January 15, 2020, Jefferson announced that he would be giving up a possible fourth year of college and enrolling in the NFL Draft . Most experts viewed him as a late first round pick.
