Justin David Pugh (* 15. August 1990 in Holland , Pennsylvania ) is an American American football poker players in the National Football League (NFL). He plays for the Arizona Cardinals as a guard .

High school

Pugh attended Council Rock High School South in his native Holland . In 2008 he was elected to the Pennsylvania All-State Second Team and was appointed to other All-State selections. But he was also able to win individual awards such as the “Defensive Player of The Year 2008” title.

college

In 2009, Pugh signed with Syracuse University and played for Syracuse Orange Football for the next three years . In college, too, he was given the honor of being elected to various all-teams. Pugh also played in the Senior Bowl in 2013 .

NFL

Justin Pugh was drafted 19th in the first round by the New York Giants . He is the highest drafted graduate of Syracuse University since Dwight Freeney in 2002, who was picked in 11th place.

In July 2013, Pugh signed a four-year contract for $ 8.34 million, of which nearly 8 million was guaranteed. He also received a $ 4.44 million signing bonus. By 2017, Pugh had completed 63 games for the Giants and had 11 tackles. He alternated frequently between right tackle , left guard and left tackle , his preferred position being that of left guard.

On March 17, 2018, it was announced that Pugh had signed a $ 45 million five-year deal with the Arizona Cardinals from the 2018 season . There he was the starting right guard before sustaining a knee injury on matchday 10. Because of this, he was placed on the Injured Reserve List on November 14, 2018 .
